Why Trust ERIs Data

Why Trust ERI’s Data

The accuracy of our compensation data is our number one priority since thousands of companies rely on ERI’s data for their compensation planning needs. For over 30 years, ERI has been focused on researching compensation by aggregating salary survey data and integrating that data into our custom salary products. Our only business is data. We have no conflict of interest from consulting or contracting, which allows us to stay independent and focused on providing objective data. We employ Ph.D. level data scientists and seasoned compensation professionals who provide an unrivaled level of expertise. ERI’s salary survey database is massive and spans over 10,000 jobs in more than 9,000 different locations.

Advanced analytics, such as machine learning, longitudinal analysis, and meta-analysis, are all part of our state-of-the-art methodology, which enables us to understand how each job fits into its organization, location, and industry. Compensation data sourced from internal surveys, third-party surveys, and public sources provide a robust sample that is second to none in terms of volume and quality. Our constantly updated database allows us to determine how market forces influence each job title’s compensation. Convergent validation has shown 99% agreement between Salary Assessor results and time-matched survey responses.

Salary Survey Process

1
Survey Participation

Each year, we open a participation window from October to April. During that time, we reach out to companies and give them the opportunity to participate and contribute their salary survey data and benefits information.

2
Salary Data Review

After data collection is complete, the salary data are reviewed by our Ph.D. statisticians for quality and consistency. If there are any salary data discrepancies, participating organizations are contacted for clarification and correction.

3
Salary Survey Results

After the salary data are collected and verified, summary statistics (such as mean salary data) are calculated, and the results are published for customers to utilize.
