U.S. Minimum Wage

The lowest wage, determined by law or contract, that an employer may pay an employee for a specified job in the United States. There are both Federal and State mandated minimums. In cases where an employee is subject to both the state and federal minimum wage laws, the employee is entitled to the higher of the two minimum wages.
