United States Internal Revenue Code Section 401(k) refers to Cash or Deferred Arrangements. These are retirement plans typically described as a defined contribution plan used within private for profit firms. These plans let workers save and invest a piece of their paycheck before taxes are taken out. Taxes aren't paid until the money is withdrawn from the account.
