Using the DOT

The Dictionary of Occupational Titles is generally used in hardcopy form. It is no longer available for purchase at the Federal government bookstore, but it can be purchased from individual vendors at: www.amazon.com. It may also be found in most public libraries. Unwieldy when first printed, this 2-volume set is still cumbersome today. Some single volume editions are available.

Electronic Versions

All eDOT editions maintained by ERI in the Disability Determination module of the Occupational Assessor provide updated job descriptions, job titles, and worker characteristics. To download a free demo edition of this software, please click on Instructions in the left-hand toolbar of this course and scroll to the software download section.
