Comparing the DOT, O*NET and eDOT

eDOT covers employers of all sizes

PAQ gathers data the old fashioned way, one questionnaire at a time, for each job being reviewed. And this data is collected from organizations of all sizes.

Q: How many analyses per position are adequate?

A: In research for the U.S. Navy in the early 1970s, PAQ Services (www.erieri.com/paq) reported validity after submission of data and consensus scoring meetings from 10 -11 job analysts. This is the number of analyses ERI still uses to provide eDOT data with reliable results.

Therefore, ERI requires that before adding a position to eDOT, no less than 10 field audits of the job must be received via its online Job Analysis Questionnaire. Each submission is analyzed to ensure that unreasonable data is not included. For further reliability, all submissions must not be from the same analyst.
