In life insurance, twisting is the act of inducing a policy owner, through misrepresentation or incomplete comparisons of the advantages and disadvantages of the two policies, to drop an existing policy in order to take a similar policy from the selling agent. Twisting is cause for license revocation in most states and is an offense that is against the law in many states.
