  • Executes intake and exit interviews, collects information, and provides assessments and counseling for victims of emotional, physical, psychological or financial abuse.
  • Consults with new clients, determines whether they may be a victim of domestic violence or at risk of becoming a victim, and supports and helps them improve their situation, which may include designing a safety plan, one-on-one therapy sessions, and/or support group meetings with others in the same or similar situation.
  • Provides support and assistance to victims, working in settings such as private practices, hospitals, governmental organizations, primary care settings, crisis hotlines, shelters for battered women and their children, domestic violence advocacy organizations, or drop-in crisis counseling centers.
