It is important to have an understanding of the statistical measures and concepts used in compensation. This webinar will cover the basics and demonstrate how to use Excel to perform statistical tests on compensation data and how to analyze the results.
Participants will learn about performing data analysis, what a population is and different kinds of samples, scales of measurement, the differences between mean, median, and mode and when to use them, ranges, quartiles, standard deviation, frequencies, proportions tests (one sample, two sample), correlation, regression analysis and a variety of ways to display data. Excel will be used to demonstrate how to perform many of these statistical operations.

Lyle Leritz is a Research Manager at ERI Economic Research Institute. Lyle has worked as a researcher and product manager at ERI for over a decade focusing on salary surveys, executive compensation, cost of living, and job analysis during that time. He received his PhD in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from the University of Oklahoma.
