Pours specimen fluid from master tube into test tubes to create required number of test samples.
Enters required patient and customer data, testing codes, and billing information into computer system, using computer keyboard or bar code reading equipment.
Prints bar code labels, using bar code printer, and attaches bar code labels to samples and requisition forms.
Prepares reagents and media for use in laboratory tests, using standard formulas. *Centrifuges, stains, slices, mounts, or performs other tasks to prepare specimens for testing.
Conducts simple tests and sets up testing equipment under direction of other laboratory workers.
Delivers sample test tubes to laboratory for testing and stores original specimen tubes in designated area of refrigerator or freezer.
