Definition:The purpose of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) is to administer the various discrimination laws of the federal government. EEOC has the authority to investigate and conciliate charges of discrimination because of race, color, religion, sex, or national origin by employers, unions, employment agencies, and joint apprenticeship or training committees.
