Definition:Disparate or unequal treatment of employees unrelated to qualifications, skills, or performance (e.g., race, religion, gender, etc.). The Equal Pay Act of 1963, The Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Age Discrimination and Employment Act of 1967 (ADEA), and the Equal Employment Opportunity Act of 1972 all forbid this kind of disparate treatment of employees.
