Definition:In the United States, this is a statute that mandates that employers sponsoring organization health plans continue to offer coverage under the organization plan to employees, their spouses, and dependent children who lost coverage due to the occurrence of a qualifying event (e.g. reduction in work hours, many types of termination of employment, death, and divorce).
