Manager Biomedical Engineering Job Description

Description: Manages, coordinates, and organizes day-to-day operations and activities of the Biomedical Engineering Department to design, develop, and improve medical equipment or instruments for medical or scientific purposes, ranging from simple mechanical processes to complex computer diagnostics and integration. Oversees a team of Biomedical Engineers and Equipment Technicians involved in different branches of study, such as clinical engineering, cellular research, biomaterials, biomechanics, medical imaging, rehabilitation or genetic engineering, and bioinstrumentation. Identifies equipment or engineering needs, often working directly with healthcare professionals to assess the viability of various prototypes and approaches to the identified problem. Determines and solves problems that arise in creating medical equipment, such as MRI scanners, heart machines, lasers, and others.
