General Nursing and Personal Care Facilities
Establishments primarily engaged in providing some level of nursing and/or health-related care to patients who do not require the intensity of services offered by skilled or intermediate care facilities. These patients may need assistance due to mental or physical conditions and require nursing care, such as administering medications and treatments or supervising self-administered medications, as directed by a physician. Sample business functions include convalescent homes for psychiatric patients with health care, general convalescent homes with health care, domiciliary care with health services, homes for the mentally retarded with health care (excluding skilled care), nursing homes not classified as skilled or intermediate care, personal care facilities with health care, and rest homes with health services.
