Description

Direct Selling Establishments

Establishments primarily engaged in the retail sale of merchandise through direct selling methods such as telephone sales, door-to-door canvassing, or from mobile and temporary locations. This industry includes independent sellers not employed by the companies they represent, as well as retail sales offices from which representatives operate. Sample business functions include direct-to-consumer retail sales of baked goods, dairy products, coffee, beer, bottled water, and other beverages. It also includes headquarters for canvassing and direct selling organizations, mobile food trucks, beverage vendors, and door-to-door sales of products such as personal care items, home goods, and subscription services (excluding traditional mail-order).
