Sample business functions include aerial work platforms (hydraulic or electric, truck- or carrier-mounted), aggregate spreaders, asphalt plants (including travel-mix type), automobile wrecker hoists, self-propelled backfillers, backhoes, ballast distributors (railway track equipment), batching plants for bituminous materials, aggregate concrete, and bulk cement, as well as blades for graders, scrapers, dozers, and snowplows.

Establishments primarily engaged in manufacturing heavy machinery and equipment used by the mining industry, including coal breakers, mine cars, mineral cleaning machinery, concentration machinery, core drills, coal cutters, portable rock drills, and rock crushing machinery. Sample business functions include amalgamators for metallurgical and mining applications, auger mining equipment, rock bits (excluding oil and gas field tools), mine shaft cages, mining car dumpers, mineral clarifying machinery, metallurgical and mining classifiers, mineral cleaning machinery, coal breakers, cutters, and pulverizers, as well as concentration machinery for metallurgical and mining use.

Establishments primarily engaged in manufacturing industrial trucks, tractors, trailers, stackers (truck type), and related equipment used for handling materials on floors and paved surfaces in and around industrial and commercial plants, depots, docks, airports, and terminals.
