The Information Technology, Software Services Salary Survey reports compensation data for 564 benchmark jobs related to providing expertise in the field of information technologies, such as computer programming, systems design, processing and data preparation, information retrieval, facilities management, networking, maintenance and repair.

The Information Technology, Software Services Salary Survey documents market-based pay data for 45 executive and 519 non-management salary benchmark jobs from up to three databases: digitized public sources, ERI Assessor Series data, and direct participants. Survey information is solicited through traditional mail, email, and online questionnaires. No attempt is made to alter incumbent data as reported other than to normalize collected compensation amounts to a common date. Data collection begins October and ends March. The Information Technology, Software Services salary guide and survey results are published annually in July, with an effective data date of March 31 of the given survey year.
