Description:
  • Inspects machinery, equipment, and working conditions in industrial or other setting to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
  • Checks machines and equipment for accident prevention devices.
  • Observes workers to determine use of prescribed safety equipment, such as glasses, helmets, goggles, respirators, and clothing.
  • Scopes out specified areas for fire-prevention equipment and other safety and first-aid supplies.
  • Tests working areas for noise, toxic, and other hazards, using decibel meter, gas detector, and light meter.
  • This is a paraprofessional level and excludes Bachelor of Science degrees in engineering.
