Job Summary

Description:
  • Views and studies mine walls and roof surfaces, analyzes results of test air samples, and identifies compliance with safety practices upon examining mining equipment.
  • Evaluates underground or open-pit mining areas, and trains mine personnel to ensure compliance with State and Federal laws and accepted mining practices designed to prevent mine accidents.
  • Ensures the safe, economical, and environmentally sound operation of mines.
  • Utilizes knowledge of mine design and practices to ensure the safety of workers and to comply with State and Federal safety regulations.
  • Excludes paraprofessional and supervisory positions.
