Description:
  • Treats and provides nursing care to obstetrical patients in accordance with approved and recognized standards of midwifery.
  • Evaluates patients, performing initial examinations with physician, and is assigned responsibility for plan of care, treatment, and delivery of patient.
  • Manages normal labor, delivers babies, and teaches patients in prenatal and postnatal health practices, consulting health team as necessary.
  • Requires Nurse Midwife certification.
