Description:
  • Provides care and education to patients with bowel and bladder difficulties, tracheotomy surgery (windpipe insertion), or gastrostomy (feeding tube insertion), incontinence, special wound/skin problems, and other medical problems.
  • Aids hospital staff and Physicians in the care of patients with stomas, draining wounds, fistulae, incontinence, or potential or actual tissue trauma.
  • Specializes in the prevention of pressure ulcers and management and rehabilitation of patients with wounds, ostomies, and incontinence.
  • Requires RN license and specialized training.
