Description

Intermediate Care Facilities

Establishments primarily engaged in providing inpatient nursing and rehabilitative services on a non-continuous basis. These facilities must have 24-hour personnel, with a licensed nurse on duty full-time during each day shift, and must receive consultation from a registered nurse on the delivery of care at least once a week. Included are facilities certified to provide intermediate care under the Medicaid program. Sample business functions include intermediate care facilities and intermediate care nursing homes.
