Establishments primarily engaged in manufacturing truck and bus bodies and cabs for sale separately or for assembly on purchased chassis, or in assembling truck and bus bodies on purchased chassis. Sample business functions include ambulance bodies, automobile wrecker-truck bodies, dump bodies, motor vehicle bus bodies, hearse bodies, truck beds, motor vehicle truck bodies, truck cabs, truck tops, and all-purpose van-type bodies.

Establishments primarily engaged in manufacturing motor vehicle parts and accessories but not engaged in manufacturing complete motor vehicles or passenger car bodies. Sample business functions include motor vehicle air brakes, automotive wiring harness sets (excluding ignition), axle housings and shafts, motor vehicle axles, ball joints, motor vehicle bearings (excluding ball and roller), brake drums, motor vehicle brakes and brake parts, bumpers and bumperettes, and camshafts for motor vehicle gasoline engines.

Establishments primarily engaged in manufacturing truck trailers, truck trailer chassis for sale separately, detachable trailer bodies (cargo containers) for sale separately, and detachable trailer (cargo container) chassis for sale separately. Sample business functions include bus trailers (tractor type), demountable cargo containers, motor truck trailers, semitrailers for missile transportation, semitrailers for truck tractors, fifth-wheel trailers for transporting horses, and truck trailers.
