  • Controls and preserves a collection of library resources and ensures that patrons have access to information.
  • Acquires, catalogs, and classifies library materials according to established standards.
  • Maintains a database of library resources, and accurate acquisition records, loans, and returns.
  • Organizes and shelves materials using the Dewey Decimal System or other relevant classification systems.
  • Provides assistance to library patrons, including locating materials, answering inquiries, and helping with research needs.
  • Helps in the utilization of library equipment and resources, including computers, printers, and scanners.
  • Recommends and reserves books, journals, and other resources for patrons.
  • Monitors the condition of library materials and performs minor repairs or initiates the repair process.
  • Implements and oversees preventative measures to protect the library collection from damage, theft, or deterioration.
  • Assists in weeding outdated or damaged materials from the collection.
  • Uses library management software and integrated systems for cataloging and circulation tasks.
  • Aids in maintaining and troubleshooting library technology, including computers, printers, and online databases.
  • Facilitates interlibrary loan requests, including borrowing and lending materials between libraries.
  • Ensures compliance with interlibrary loan agreements and protocols.
