  • Supports the EMS Administrator in developing, putting into practice, running, managing, and evaluating the programs, policies, procedures, and activities of the EMS agency.
  • Coordinates the professional, technical, and administrative support staff's development.
  • Maintains program compliance, monitors state and federal rules and regulations, and offers recommendations for new legislation.
  • Contributes to the creation and execution of directives, rules, and procedures that are necessary to create and maintain operational guidelines for those who use the county's EMS system.
  • Oversees and keeps an eye on the certification and training programs.
  • Requests proposals, negotiates contracts, and oversees providers of service adherence to contracts.
  • Provides contractors with technical, educational, and procedural support.
  • Assists with the organization and planning of EMS activities, including lending support and resources to other county organizations in times of emergency or high-fatality situations.
