Term: Works Council
Definition:A representative body of employees who interact with a company’s management on behalf of their fellow workers. Works councils are not unions, but they usually work very closely with unions. In Europe, where works councils are common and have significant powers, if a company is bigger than a certain size and has operations in more than one country, a works council can be transnational.
