Description:
- Directs, mentors, and trains the utilization review staff and function for the company.
- Provides analysis and reports of significant utilization trends, patterns, and impacts to medical resources.
- Manages and monitors admission, concurrent, and retrospective reviews to ensure that the members and customers are getting the supplies and therapies in a timely and cost-effective way.
- Consults with physicians and other professionals to develop improved utilization of effective and appropriate supplies and services.
- Develops functional strategies and specific objectives for the department and determines budgets, policies, and procedures to support the functional infrastructure.
- Adheres to HIPAA regulations and maintains confidentiality of all data, including member, customer, employee, and operations information.
- Utilizes appropriate communications and follows up as appropriate regarding reported complaints, problems and concerns.
- Manages, supports, mentors, and trains utilization management staff.
- Contributes to the organizational compliance program.
- Completes all required compliance standards that may be department specific and identified by the organization.
