Job Summary

Description:
  • Dispenses and compounds prescribed radioactive materials for use in nuclear medicine procedures, according to professional standards and State and Federal regulatory requirements.
  • Acquires the desired radioactive material, either from a manufacturer, or from an in house generator system.
  • Dispenses radioactive materials to a hospital, specialty clinic, or other nuclear medicine departments where the radiopharmaceutical will be administered to the patient.
  • Provides drug information to other health professionals, aids the nuclear medicine staff in the selection of products, and interprets the process and results of unusual studies.
