  • Directs land and leasing department of petroleum company to secure leases, options, rights-of-way, and special agreements covering land and mineral rights for drilling wells and producing gas and oil: studies leases bought, prices paid, and other negotiations of competing companies in specified areas and determines expenditure necessary to obtain leases and other contracts in those areas.
  • Determines and specifies date of termination of lease rentals.
  • Negotiates with brokers or other individuals to sell interests in leases owned.
  • Executes general policies established by company officials.
  • May make final decisions on and sign agreements and contracts for purchase, sale and acquisition of land leases, mineral and royalty rights.
