Job Description:
Supervises and coordinates quality inspection of parts, components, materials, software, and other items provided by subcontractors and vendors, and surveillance of subcontractors' processes. Directs sampling inspection, and testing of received parts, components, and materials to determine conformance to standards. Typical requirement for position is completion of a degree in quality control engineering or a closely-related field.: Conducts periodic and special surveys of subcontractors' facilities and processes to determine adequacy and capability of quality control and ability to comply with complete quality specifications. Reviews quality problems with appropriate personnel and directs action required to correct defects. Prepares periodic and special reports concerning departmental activities, problems, subcontractor's quality system, schedules, and rejected items.
