Job Description:
Directs short- and long-term urban renewal programs and plans. Compiles and analyzes data on economic, social, and physical factors affecting land use, projects future community needs, and prepares or requisitions graphic and narrative reports on data. Typically oversees work of urban planners. A master's degree in urban planning, civil engineering, or a related field is required in addition to job experience as an urban planner.: Confers with local authorities, civic leaders, social scientists, and land planning and development specialists to devise and recommend arrangements of land and physical facilities for residential, commercial, industrial, and community uses.
