Job Description:
Prepares detailed scale drawings and tracings from rough sketches or other data provided by landscape architect. Prepares working plans and detail drawings from rough or detailed sketches and notes specifications. Typically requires at least two years of postsecondary training in drafting and considerable skill and experience using computer-aided drafting (CAD) systems.: Calculates and lays out dimensions, angles, curvatures, and materials to be used, utilizing knowledge of engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and related physical sciences. Creates preliminary or final sketch of proposed drawing, using standard drafting techniques and devices, such as drawing board, T-square, protractor, and drafting machine, or using computer-assisted design drafting equipment. Modifies drawings as directed. May prepare separate detailed site plan, grading and drainage plan, lighting plan, paving plan, irrigation plan, planting plan, and drawings and detail of garden structures.
