Professionals asked to serve on the boards of for-profit and non-profit organizations are responsible for overseeing these organizations’ executive pay packages. Under intermediate sanctions, board members of tax-exempt organizations who make decisions about executive compensation are required to be knowledgeable about compensation so they can make informed decisions about reasonable compensation. Sarbanes-Oxley also requires board members of for-profit companies to be knowledgeable about compensation when making decisions about executive compensation. By completing this series of online courses, board members and those engaged in developing executive pay packages can earn a credential in executive compensation analysis.
DLC Compensation Committee Certification (CCC) courses teach:
Individuals who have earned a CCC will feel more comfortable making executive compensation decisions because they will have gained a solid foundation in executive pay planning. This short and convenient program is self-paced and can be completed at home or at work.
Compensation committee members can choose to focus on for-profit or non-profit executive pay planning by selecting courses from one of two tracks.
To earn a CCC, you must complete the 5 courses listed above in the for-profit series or the 5 courses listed in the non-profit series. In addition, you must earn 5 additional CCC credits by passing CCC exams for five of the elective courses listed below.
Choose five elective courses from this list.
To get started, order the CCC. Then, go to your Training History and begin taking the five required courses and five elective courses.
Read through the course text answering each memory jogger question correctly in order to proceed to the next page. You may exit a course at any time and later return to the page you left by clicking the Page Index link in the course left-hand navigation.
When you are ready to take the Final Exam, you will be asked to select a credit type. Select Compensation Committee Certification and your location (state, province, or country). After you have passed the exam, go to your Training History to view your progress and to start the next course. (There is no charge for retaking an exam, either to get a pass or to get a different type of credit.)
After you have passed the 10 CCC courses (from the 5 required and 5 elective courses - listed above), please print this CCC application form and fill it out. Then email it to the ERI Distance Learning Center. We will review your application and mail you your CCC certificate.
