Description:
  • Operates and maintains the diesel and electric engines that power the drilling equipment and some of the other rig equipment, including engines used to lift drilling pipe, turn the rotary table that turns the drill bit, and for mixing and circulating drilling fluid-like mud.
  • Operates and maintains the boiler systems.
  • Performs preventive maintenance and general maintenance on equipment around the rig—tests, lubricates, and maintains moving parts to keep equipment running efficiently.
