Job Summary

Description:
  • Prospects for and finds reservoirs containing oil or natural gas, and aids petroleum companies in determining how to use them.
  • Plans and designs equipment and processes to achieve the maximum profitable recovery of oil and gas.
  • Determines the capacity of the underground fuel reservoirs, evaluates fuel quantities as they are extracted, maintains the reserves, and adjusts the extraction processes as geological changes occur with the depletion of the fuel.
  • Collaborates with geologists and other specialists to understand the geologic formation and properties of the rock containing the reservoir, determine the drilling methods to be used, and monitor drilling and production operations.
  • Develops well drilling plan for management approval.
  • Excludes paraprofessional positions.
