  • Repairs and keeps in efficient operating condition mechanical, electromechanical, optical, and electronic equipment in newspaper composing room, such as line-and-character-type-casting machines, photographic typesetters, copy cameras and reproduction units, teletypesetter-keyboard converter, proof presses, type-cutting saws, and conveyors.
  • Cleans, lubricates, and replaces mechanical, electronic, electromechanical, and optical components, using hand tools, power tools, circuit diagrams, and repair manuals.
  • Reports extensive failures in electronics components to supervisor or local service representative of equipment.
