Job Summary

Description:
  • Cares for livestock, such as cattle, bison, sheep, swine, goats, llamas, and horses on a farm or ranch.
  • Cleans and maintains animal housing areas, using disinfectant solutions, brushes, and shovels.
  • Monitors food and water supplies; mixes feed and additives and fills feed troughs with feed or puts out hay, and waters livestock according to schedules.
  • Herds livestock to pastures for grazing when grass is available, and transfers them between quarters and pastures as necessary.
