Job Summary

Description:
  • Solves problems endangering the earth and its inhabitants by conducting research and interpreting findings, using knowledge of mathematical, statistical, and physical science concepts and approaches.
  • Plans and researches environmental studies to develop methods or theories of abating or controlling sources of environmental pollutants, utilizing knowledge of principles and concepts of various scientific and engineering disciplines.
  • Examines surveys; studies collected samples of air, water, and earth; and performs historical research.
  • Identifies potential threats and harmful pollutants or hazards to humans, plants, or animals; determines the extent and sources of environmental changes; and finds ways to prevent future damage.
  • Excludes paraprofessional positions.
