- Leads, trains, and supervises a team of air traffic controllers, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure effective and safe operations.
- Manages airspace within the assigned region and assures the safe separation of aircraft and efficient traffic flow.
- Provides clear and concise instructions to pilots, including vectoring, altitude changes, and other necessary information.
- Coordinates responses to emergency situations, such as aircraft emergencies, adverse weather conditions, or other incidents, to ensure the safety of aircraft and passengers.
- Confirms adherence to air traffic control regulations, procedures, and protocols.
- Operates air traffic control equipment and systems, including radar and communication tools.
- Maintains records of air traffic control activities, incidents, and communication logs.
- Collaborates with other air traffic control facilities, aviation authorities, and stakeholders to coordinate traffic flow and resolve operational challenges.
- Promotes a culture of safety and risk management within the air traffic control team.
