Compatibility Issues

As of July 2007, the Salary Assessor (SA), Relocation Assessor (RA), Executive Compensation Assessor (XA), and Nonprofit Comparables Assessor (CA) applications utilize an e-mail component that is specifically designed for MAPI e-mail, including MAPI clients like MS Outlook.  Customers who use Lotus Notes for their e-mail will most likely experience problems when trying to e-mail from an ERI application.

If for some reason your e-mail software is not MAPI compatible, then you will not be able to use ERI's e-mail feature.

As an alternative to the File | Send an E-mail feature, customers are encouraged to use the Copy-to-Clipboard feature, and/or manually create a screen snapshot, then attach those files to an e-mail created using their default e-mail software.

Sending E-mails in the SA, RA, XA, and CA applications

After sending e-mail from the SA, RA, XA, or CA, the client (e.g. Outlook Express) may prompt the user before attempting to send the message.

The following dialog example indicates that the e-mail client accepted the message for sending, but this is not necessarily an indication that the message was sent successfully.  For example, the message could linger in the Outlook Express Outbox until the client is able to send it.

Windows 7 does not include a default e-mail client, so SA, RA, XA, or CA will present these dialogs if the File | E-mail Current Screen menu option is used before a default e-mail client is configured:
