QUESTION:  From the Salary Assessor® or Executive Compensation Assessor®, when I print the position descriptions the bullets don't print, and some of the letters are dropped.  How can I correct this?

This problem is generally encountered by Windows 95 or Windows 98 users who are printing to an HP Laser Jet 4 or 5 printer.

Please note:  ERI no longer supports use of any ERI or PAQ software product on a computer using the Windows 98 operating system, as of January 1, 2005, or Windows NT or ME, as of July 1, 2007.  While most of ERI's applications should continue to function properly in a Windows 98, NT or ME environment, ERI makes no guarantee that all functions of all applications will work properly or without error in these settings.

According to a Microsoft support web site (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;159222), several output quality problems may occur with the HP LaserJet series 4 and 5, as well as other types of printers.

ERI subscribers have found that these problems may be corrected by changing the printer settings:

1.Click the "Start" button on the Windows taskbar.
2.Select "Settings," and then click "Printers."
3.Click to select/highlight the printer you are using.
4.Select File | Properties.
5.Click the "Graphics" tab, and then select the "Use Raster Graphics" option.

You may have to reboot your PC.

After making the change above, try printing the position description again.  If you continue to experience problems, please contact ERI.
