Check Your Printer Driver

Often times printing problems may be solved by making sure that you have the proper printer driver installed for the printer you are trying to use.

To Check Your Printer Driver

1.	Click the Windows Start button and select Settings \| Printers.

2.	Right-click on the appropriate printer and left-click Properties.

3.	The printer driver will be listed on the General tab (Windows NT or 2000) or the Details tab (Windows 95, 98 or ME).

Example: A Windows NT user was trying to print to an HP Laser Jet 4000 printer. The following drivers did not work:

•	HP Laser Jet 4M

•	HP Laser Jet 4MPlus

•	HP Laser Jet 4MP

The driver that did work was HP Laser Jet 4000 Series PCL6.
